On Saturday I went gallery hopping these are some of the stand outs of the day.
NGV: European Masters: Städel Museum, 19th–20th CenturyI was very impressed to see this exhibition not because of the usual predictable skills of the master, I was impress to see the unexpected Monet work that was made before the impressionist period(image above) as well as the Vincent van Gogh work that was not all swirls and passion. I do recommend you see it before the 1st of September when the Monet will be moved for Monet show in Paris. If you haven't seen the Tim Burton show you can get a double pass for both shows and skip the Tim Burton line.

Linden: Jus' Drawn by proppaNOW
Being a drawing show I was really excited. Drawing hasn't been very 'fashionable' in the past but recently has had a revival which is great for me. This is why I was
disappointed when I saw the Linden show... the drawings being mostly sub-par with the exception of the artist Vernon AhKee(image above) which was had work which was beautiful and very strong. For me his work made the whole exhibition worth seeing.
